indoorwrestling.com Frequently Asked Questions

[check out the links / friends / cool sites page]

1. What the hell is wrong with you guys?!

We don't know.

2. How did all this come about?

Devious bought a new Sony Mavica  FD-90.  It does 320x240 fifteen second videos with sound... after coming up with 'Think Yer Tough', the rest is history.  The indoorwrestling.com mission statement is to provide a quick conflict point or 'tagline', and then in 15 seconds, try and resolve it.  Most often, just like life, no one 'wins'.

3. What do you use to film it?

I just told you that it was a Sony Mavica FD-90.  Weren't you paying attention sucka?  We almost never had a camera person either, which explains why someone always starts off camera and hits record.  We have a tripod now, but unfortunately, we filmed most of the vids before we got that.
As of July 2002, we have another camera added to the arsenal!  It is a Sony DCR-TRV27!  We are excited that we'll have multiple angles and longer shots to work with.  This camera rules... with its night mode, we may even do some low light vids!

4. This site is pretty cool.  What technology do you use, and who does what?

The site uses some very clever PHP w/ a MySQL backend.  Also some JS here and there. Bob deftly codes most of that.  Use Photoshop, ImageReady, etc. for doing graphics.  Standard editors for HTML.  Videos are manipulated in the excellent Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video.  Cafepress for the store.  Devious does all that stuff.  Also thanks to grizz of dipd.com who provides us with some additional mirror space for our vids.

5. That logo is funny.  Who made that?

Trillian gets credit for that one.  She did a great job!

6. How do you come up with your videos?

We usually have an idea, or we have some prop we want to hit the other person with.  Then we map out a simple scenario that takes about 15 seconds.  It doesn't always fit in the time frame and sometimes we have to re-shoot.  That can be painful.

7. I have an idea for a video.  Will you consider it?  Will I get credit?

Sweet, you can submit your ideas here.  We'll consider ones we like or can reasonably do.  As for getting credit, you'll become part of the database with your name (if you choose) and a link to your website (if you have one).  Also, we have video advertising opportunities too.

8. I have a video that I have made!  Will you add it to your site?

Most likely, no.  We have big egos, and we need to appear in all our videos.  Plus encoding, etc. is a pain and we have the 15 second limit, etc..  Suggest an idea instead.

9. Hey, I see you have some advertising, how does all that work?

Check out our advertising page with all the details!  We've got a few options for you.  Linking to us might get you linked on our link page (?).

10. I don't really want to advertise anything, but I'd like to help out. What can I do?

We can always use alternate server space (mirrors) to redundantly host our videos. The donation of bandwidth is a great thing indeed. Use our advertising page to get in touch with us about donating some server space. We'll give you mad props of course!

11. How can I contact you guys?

Check the actor profiles page for individual email contacts or fill out the form on the advertising page.
